Webster University
I attended Webster University from 2001-2004. At that time, the campus was in Jeffersonville, IN, but now it is located off Zorn Avenue in Louisville. I had a great experience at Webster. The instructors were very knowledgeable in their respective fields. most of them having extensive real world experience. They are not required to have a doctorate in their fields, but must have at least 18 graduate credit hours in their discipline. At Webster, you do not have to write a thesis to graduate. This is a negative if you are going on to earn a doctorate, as a thesis is a good preparation to writing a dissertation. I did feel that the coursework was very challenging because there was a heavy amount of writing involved. Overall, I would give Webster University 4 out of 5 stars.
University of Louisville
I attended U of L from 1998-2001. I was advised to take two courses that I did not need. By the time I did a degree audit, it was too late to drop the courses so I had to finish them. I paid for two classes I did not need and did not get any sort of refund. My advisor obviously made a mistake and the school profited. Many of my classes consisted of a mid-term and a final..and that is all. I was a Psychology major. Overall, I would probably rate U of L two stars on a five star scale.

Rules for posting on this site
Please avoid foul language when posting. I would like to create a compilation of experiences so that those who are trying to decide on a local college can see what some of the strengths and weaknesses of these institutions are. I realize that some of you may have something negative to say, but please just try and state the facts without an excessive amount of complaining or bad language in the description of your experience. Thank you!
Review of colleges and universities in Louisville, Kentucky
I created this web site for Louisvillians to rate and comment on their experiences at local colleges and universities to help guide those who are planning to attend a local college, but are not sure where to attend.
I personally have attended Jefferson Community College, University of Louisville, Webster University and Spalding University. I have two associate degrees, a bachelor's degree, two master's degrees and a doctorate. I have had good and bad experiences at these colleges and wished that I had more guidance on some of these instutions as a young college student.
I hope you find some value in this blog. Most of all, I hope that you can add some value to it yourselves!
